Valen Designs

Paul Carlson Associates is a team of professionals devoted to improving safety and health in the workplace and they needed a site that could help their clients find answers to their safety questions.

Valen Designs built PCA Inc. using the open-source CMS, Joomla. As well, we built PCA Inc. an automated email reminder system that sends their clients emails at set intervals that is based on certain events from the past which is executed daily using a mix of PHP, Shell Scripts, and a Cron Job to check who needs a reminder. In addition, a field calendar to keep track of employees and their schedule was created. The two processes were combined in a custom application built using cakePHP 1.2 (our preferred framework) and some pretty fantastic programming efforts by Chris Moyer. Who knows maybe we will set up a demo and let our clients take a test run.
